Developer Mah Sing Group Bhd is partnering e-commerce company Lazada Group to sell its properties online. The online campaign is called Mah Sing x Lazada.

“Mah Sing is aware of the changing consumer behaviour and preference, especially when it comes to the extensive use of technology to purchase things. We aim  to be as innovative as we can in our business  and want to reinvent the way consumers shop for homes,” said Mah Sing CEO Datuk Ho Hon Sang at the official launch of Mah Sing x Lazada on Nov 28.

“We are excited to be the first e-commerce platform in the region to sell properties. After the overwhelming response we received during the 11.11 Lazada Shopping Festival, we are ramping up our efforts to anticipate the changing demands of mobile consumers.  Malaysian consumers are looking for more digital solutions for their lifestyle needs. We believe this collaboration will make affordable homes more accessible to young homebuyers,” said Lazada Malaysia CEO Christophe Lejeune.

Mah Sing is the first developer in Southeast Asia to offer such services.

“Mah Sing x Lazada is a maiden initiative by both parties. This collaboration is timely and it fulfils the vision and mission of both companies. This will complement our physical sales effort. We are confident of achieving good results through Mah Sing x Lazada.”

Mah Sing x Lazada will sell selected units from six of Mah Sing’s townships. They comprise serviced apartments (with built-ups of 850 and 1,000 sq ft) at M Vertica in Cheras, condominiums (626 sq ft) at M Centura in Sentul, condominiums (888 and 914 sq ft) at Sensa Residence @ Southville City in Kuala Lumpur South, 2-storey intermediate link houses (1,666 sq ft; 20ft by 60ft) at M Aruna in Rawang, condominiums (1,022 and 1,201 sq ft) at M Vista in Penang and 2-storey link houses (1,964 sq ft; 20ft by 70ft) at Meridin East in Johor.

The Mah Sing x Lazada campaign will be held for three days — from Dec 10 to 12 — to coincide with Lazada’s 12.12 grand sale. Last year, the event raked in RM1 billion in gross merchandise value.

Lazada will offer an exclusive 5% rebate worth between RM20,000 to RM30,000 on purchases of Mah Sing’s products online. According to Mah Sing, the booking fee will be RM3,000.

“We encourage our customers to browse our LazMall page [on Lazada] before the campaign to get to know the properties we will be offering. We also advise them to speak to their bankers to learn about their financial eligibility. There will be limited units and the offer will be on a first-come-first-served basis,” explained Ho.

“Both companies are targeting young people. As it is, our existing customers are mostly below 40 years old. We are targeting digital-savvy and urban consumers.”

Meanwhile, Mah Sing unveiled its latest product, Phase 2 (Tower C) at M Vertica. It will comprise 752 serviced apartments with built-ups of 850 to 1,000 sq ft (3-bedroom and 4-bedroom units). Its show units were opened to the public on Nov 24.

Spanning 11.25 acres, M Vertica will comprise five blocks of serviced apartments and 74 units of 2-storey retail shops with a gross development value of RM2.2 billion.

The development is accessible via the KL-Seremban Highway, Maju Expressway, Middle Ring Road 2, Jalan Cheras, Jalan Loke Yew, Jalan Pudu, Sungai Besi Highway and Jalan Tun Razak. It is located 500m from the Maluri LRT station and Taman Pertama MRT station.

Nearby amenities include AEON Maluri, IKEA Cheras, MyTown KL, Royal Selangor Golf Club, KLCC and Sunway Velocity.
