PETALING JAYA (Feb 22): Ex-Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng’s home has been raided by the police, reported The Star today.

Bukit Aman CID Anti-Money Laundering division chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Khalil Azlan Chik has confirmed with the English daily that the police carried out the raid on Feb 19 over investigations of the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) affair.

The report also said that three cars and about RM49,000 were seized during the raid.

Ng, who is facing charges linked to 1MDB in the US and Malaysia, recently decided not to challenge the US Department of Justice's (DoJ) application for him to be extradited to the US.

Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin later clarified that Ng’s extradition to the US will only be carried out after his cases in the Malaysian courts are completed.

“So it is likely that Ng’s extradition will have to be postponed because priority is on his cases in Malaysia,” said Muhyiddin.

The Edge Financial Daily had reported on Jan 23 this year that in December last year, Ng claimed trial to four charges here of abetting Goldman Sachs in selling guaranteed notes and bonds worth RM6.5 billion belonging to 1MDB's subsidiaries by omitting material information and publishing untrue statements.
