KUALA LUMPUR (Mar 7): Asia Aviation Capital Ltd (AACL), the aircraft leasing unit of AirAsia Group Bhd, has acquired four newly-incorporated companies in Ireland.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, AirAsia said AACL — its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary — had acquired the entre issued and paid-up share capital of Merah Aviation Asset Holding Two Ltd, Merah Aviation Asset Holding Three Ltd, Merah Aviation Asset Holding Four Ltd, and Merah Aviation Asset Holding Five Ltd.

AirAsia said the four Merah Aviation companies were incorporated under the laws of Ireland on March 6 this year, for the purpose of owning, leasing and/or financing of aircraft.

Each of Merah Aviation has an issued and paid-up share capital of USD1 (RM4.0895).

AirAsia was trading at RM2.85 as at 3:03pm today, up five sen or 1.79%, valuing the company at RM9.46 billion.
