KUALA LUMPUR (July 25): Capital A Bhd said on Monday (July 25) that AirAsia Malaysia's second quarter (2Q) number of passengers carried jumped to 3.85 million from 279,653 a year earlier, helped by a surge in demand for domestic and international flights amid a Covid-19 vaccine-driven global aviation sector recovery.

"Load factor for international flights achieved 81% with 31 additional destinations reinstated and the highest number of international passengers carried post pandemic, attributed mainly [to flights plying the] Malaysia-Singapore route, followed by Malaysia-Indonesia and Malaysia-India routes," Capital A said in a statement.
