KUALA LUMPUR (June 19): World Vision International has been ceaselessly pushing for better living conditions for children around the world since Rev Dr Robert Pierce founded it in the 1950s. By keeping the future in mind, World Vision Malaysia CEO Terry Leong continually looks forward in her stewardship of the local chapter of the humanitarian aid, development and advocacy organisation. In this week’s cover story, she also talks about how the World Vision has evolved over the years, how it continues to attract donors and the good work it has done for children and the communities they live in across Malaysia.

Children are also the focus of the Balance Sheet column, in which Pemimpin GSL’s Cheryl Ann Fernando and YTL Foundation’s Datuk Kathleen Chew talk about bringing the prestigious Global Teacher Prize to Malaysia, a move that will not only elevate the teaching profession in the country but also provide better education for children.

Meanwhile, kids of all ages are ready to celebrate 25 years since the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone — our Travel column encourages readers to dust off those Floo Networks and perfect those Apparition skills as they embark on a magical journey in celebration of the book’s silver anniversary. England and Queen Elizabeth II are also in the spotlight, as we bring you the unforgettable setting of the Jubilee celebrations in London courtesy of Royal Salute whisky.

An art exhibition by Kishore Sahoo at Kamaria; Whipped + Bath's natural and organic body products in captivating scents and colours; and where best to dine out at the moment — all this and more in this week’s issue of Options
