KUALA LUMPUR (April 17): Badan Warisan Malaysia's new webinar series titled "Spotlight on Sarawak" focuses on its diverse cultural and built traditions. Desaru Coast's new resident consultant naturalist Irshad Mobarak tells stories of winged creatures and plants as naturally as they fly and flourish around the 4,000-acre seaside development in Johor. Irshad brings more than 30 years of experience and knowledge to his role, but it is his compassion for wildlife and nature that comes through whenever he takes guests on tours. His accounts of monkeys, eagles and birds connect people to what they see when they visit, making them friends of nature.

Its efforts include conservation of tigers, advocacy and forest management. WWF-MY chairman and trustee Tunku Ali Redhauddin ibni Tuanku Muhriz, at the tail end of his second term at the organisation, talks about its various projects, especially engaging the government in different areas across Peninsular Malaysia.
