KUALA LUMPUR (May 29): With five all-electric cars in its arsenal and an additional one coming as part of the 50th anniversary of the M division, BMW Malaysia is at the forefront of electric mobility in the premium segment. Its CEO and managing director Hans de Visser graces the cover of Options this week, and one year into his assignment, talks about how far the German marque has come in its journey towards a sustainable automotive future.

“We don’t do sustainability at BMW, we are making BMW sustainable. That principle is really being lived here. I am so proud of the people who work here. They make me proud to be with BMW,” de Visser says in our chat, which also includes updates on the exciting anniversary celebrations of the M division.

There is much ground covered this week when it comes to the finer things in life — our Horology segment highlights the Bell & Ross new cigar-inspired BR 05 Chrono Edición Limitada. In the hot seat in Profile is French chef and founder of hip noodle chain Baan Phadthai, Fred Meyer. Liquidity trains the spotlight on three tuak brewers ahead of Hari Gawai this June 1. Even Queen Elizabeth II gets some attention as our Travel piece handpicks some must-dos in London, ahead of Jubilee Weekend from June 2 to 5.

To round things off, there is a review of Isabel Allende’s bildungsroman novel Violeta, which blends political and historical events with a century-old character. In our Tech column, new audio-based app Anyone caters for those faced with a career roadblock. Plus, don't miss our story on the 2023 Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards, which help changemakers grow their business and hone leadership skills.

Read more about these and more in the latest issue of Options, which comes out with The Edge Malaysia weekly's May 30, 2022 edition.
