EVENING 5: Govt testing mechanisms for targeted fuel subsidy

1. The government is in the midst of selecting the mechanism for a targeted fuel subsidy.

2. Malaysia’s unemployment rate has remained the same but inflation worries loom according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia. 

3. Shareholders of ECM Libra Group have been advised to reject the takeover put forward by its director Datuk Lim Kian Onn.

4. Malaysia’s air passenger traffic has jumped five-fold so far this year according to the Malaysian Aviation Commission. 

5. Axiata Group Bhd’s subsidiary, edotco Group Sdn Bhd, says its Myanmar operations are largely unaffected but the company is not putting more money into the country for now.
