KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 13): Former CIMB Group Holdings Bhd chief financial officer (CFO) Shahnaz Farouque Jammal Ahmad has joined TIME dotCom Bhd as its CFO.

The new appointment is effective Wednesday, according to TIME’s filing with Bursa Malaysia.

Shahnaz, 46, has over 20 years of banking experience covering mergers and acquisitions advisory, risk advisory, trading, risk management, corporate and investment banking, capital and balance sheet management, and finance, said TIME.

Shahnaz was most recently the CIMB group’s wholesale banking chief executive officer. Prior to this, he was the group’s CFO.

He had earlier served in various capacities in CIMB in group finance, group risk management, corporate client solutions and PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk, said TIME.

Before joining CIMB in 2009, Shahnaz was with Goldman Sachs in London. He has also worked at Bankers Trust and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in London, as well as ABN AMRO Bank in Kuala Lumpur.

His academic qualifications include an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford, and Bachelor (Double First Class) and Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Shahnaz is also a non-independent, non-executive director of Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd and TNG Digital Sdn Bhd.

TIME’s share price closed unchanged at RM4.60 on Wednesday, valuing the group at RM8.32 billion.
