KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 17): The global semiconductor manufacturing equipment billings fell 2% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2015 to US$9.4 billion, according to the US-based Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI).

In a statement on its website Sept 14, SEMI said the billings figure was 1% lower than the first quarter of 2015.

The data was gathered jointly with the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) from over 100 global equipment companies that provide data on a monthly basis.

Semi said worldwide semiconductor equipment bookings were $10.2 billion in the second quarter of 2015.

“The figure is 2% higher than the same quarter a year ago and 6% higher than the bookings figure for the first quarter of 2015,” it said.
