KUALA LUMPUR (May 12): The commercial director of national carrier Malaysia Airlines Dr Hugh Dunleavy has resigned from the position with effect from August 31 this year.

In a brief statement today, the airline said a search to identify a suitable successor, both internally and externally, was being conducted.

It said chief executive officer Christoph Mueller would take over the responsibilities as chief commercial officer effective June 1 to ensure a smooth transition until an individual has been identified for the role.
