KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 17): Travellers who fly with Malindo Air, Malaysia’s first hybrid airline, can now change their flight date and time up to 24 hours prior to departure without any additional charge.

In a statement today, Malindo Air said it has introduced its “No Change Fee” today, which will allow passengers to change their flight dates, free of charge, across its business and economy classes.

“Malindo Air guests can now look forward to changing their flight date and time up to 24 hours prior to departure to their convenience as there is no limit to the permissible changes.

“Only fare differences, if any, are chargeable. The No Change Fee is valid for all existing and new bookings [but] is not applicable to the ‘promo’ fares (Booking class X, V, T & I),” Malindo Air said.

Malindo Air chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy said the airline’s latest No Change Fee is a first in Malaysia.

“We would like to offer our passengers a great value. As such, we are taking away the change fees. Now, we don’t have to pay high fees to get your tickets changed or pay additional to buy flexi tickets.

“We believe that our No Change Fee, coupled with our value-added fares and superior service, will further encourage travel and boost the economy,” he added.

Customers can make these flight changes by calling in to Malindo Call Centre or at the nearest Malindo ticketing counter across all major airports in Malaysia.

Malindo Air took to the skies in March 2013 with domestic flights and has since grown to operate routes to all major airports in Malaysia and across regional destinations in Indonesia, Thailand, India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Singapore.

The airline also operates over 800 flights weekly across a continuously growing network in the region. The carrier will operate new routes to southern China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Australia and further points of India in second half of 2015.
