A photography and creativity contest organised by LBS Bina Group Bhd received an overwhelming 3,622 entries and drew to a close at the award-giving ceremony on Jan 30. Some 112 individuals and schools walked away with attractive prizes.

“It was nice to see many [participants] expressing their hopes and aspirations of their ideal community and dream home through art. The photography and creativity contest was our way of reaching out and engaging with our customers as well as the community. We thank everyone for their continuous support of LBS over the years,” said group managing director Tan Sri Lim Hock San at the ceremony.

The inaugural contest provided a platform for participants to show their creativity through photos, paintings, illustrations and physical arts, inspired by the theme

“My Dream House”. In the photography category, contestants were required to showcase images that best described how LBS had impacted Malaysia’s landscape and community in the past 27 years.

In addition, a model house-making category was created after receiving 63 exciting entries that showcased innovative dream houses. The contest was an initiative of the LBS Perks & Plusses campaign that ran between Aug 1 and Oct 31, 2018.

“The themes for the contest stemmed from the work we have been doing over the years, in line with the government’s aspiration of housing the nation. We are proud to see a burst of creativity and passion through the competition. This motivates us to do more than just deliver quality, affordable homes by supporting the growth of a sustainable community and environment,” concluded Lim.

On Jan 23, Perak State Secretary Inc and LBS, through its subsidiary company, Bimbingan Simfoni Sdn Bhd, signed a memorandum of understanding to develop two parcels situated in Temoh and Chepor, Perak.

LBS will develop the 50-acre parcel in Temoh in the Batang Padang district, and the 41-acre parcel in Chepor in the Hulu Kinta district in Perak. The parcels have a combined estimated gross development value of RM200 million.

These parcels are expected to be used for affordable mixed-use developments comprising cluster terraced homes as well as terraced and semi-detached homes. Construction is expected to start in 4Q2019 and be completed in three to four years.
