KUALA LUMPUR (April 2): Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said today Datuk Paddy Abd Halim has been appointed new director-general of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department effective yesterday (April 1).
In a statement today, Lim said Paddy takes over as director-general from former Customs Department director-general Datuk Seri Subromaniam Tholasy.
According to Lim, Paddy joined the Customs Department since 1983. On July 15, 2016, he was promoted as assistant director-general.
On July 1, 2017, Paddy was appointed deputy director-general of the Customs Department, according to Lim.
