PETALING JAYA: Malaysians want a government that prioritises the welfare of its citizens instead of just jailing critics, said activist Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan, in light of challenging race relations on the back of an ongoing sedition blitz against dissidents.
She said many Malaysians had wonderful memories of the country as they grew up but there were forces bent on destroying this.
“All of you here are proof that we want to be together,” she said yesterday during the Piknik Rakyat event at Taman Jaya.
“We want a government who looks after us, not a government who puts people behind bars for expressing their opinions,” she added. — The Malaysian Insider
