KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 18): The FBM KLCI put warrants were among the top active with a volume of 58.7 million shares traded as at the midday break today.

FBMKLCI-HK moved up by 6.9% to 15.5 sen.

The top gainers were dominated by the HSI put warrants with HSI-HW jumping 16.4% to RM1.42, HSI-HV increasing 9.2% to RM2.14 while HSI-HN also climbed 11% to RM1.72. For comparison, the Hang Seng Index dropped 1.1% as at midday.

An analyst from JF Apex Securities said, "The market is expected to remain volatile and given the bearish market, it's normal that investors turn to the put warrants."

The broader market sentiment on the Bursa Malaysia was negative, as losers thumped gainers by 819 to 105, while 203 counters traded unchanged.

At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI was down 0.58% or 9.43 points at 1,619.12 points.
