KUALA LUMPUR (June 28): Retail bonds offer a viable investment option at a time when many investors are hard put to achieve higher returns. 

Malaysia boasts one of the largest bond markets in the region. 

But retail investors have little direct access to the bond market despite the fact that it is one of the largest in the region.

A government bond issued on the primary market is usually purchased at RM10 million per lot, while a corporate bond is typically RM5 million.
