KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 2): The Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) has announced that the Rubber Production Incentive (IPG) for smallholders was deactivated for October 2021 in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.

In a statement on Tuesday (Nov 2), the MRB said that the IPG would only be activated if the average monthly price of SMR 20 free on board is at RM6.10 per kilogramme (kg) or if the farm gate price falls below RM2.50 per kg.

“The average farm price of scrap rubber in October 2021 for Peninsular Malaysia was RM2.90 per kg, while in Sabah and Sarawak, it was RM2.55 per kg.

"Therefore, no IPG payment was made for the month," the MRB said.
