KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 19): Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB) jumped more than 40% as the Sarawak-based civil engineering group’s share trade resumed on Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday (Jan 19).

At 9am, the stock opened 8.5 sen or 41.46% higher at 29 sen, with some five million shares traded.

At 10.29am, the counter had pared some gains at 27 sen, still up 6.5 sen or 31.71%.

It was the third most active counter on the local bourse, with 74.91 million shares done so far.

Trading of SCIB shares resumed after the group submitted its annual report for the financial year ended June 30, 2021 (FY21) on Monday.

Prior to this, share trading had been suspended since Nov 9, 2021 after the company failed to submit its annual report by Nov 8 as directed by Bursa.

Meanwhile, for the first quarter ended Sept 30, 2021 (1QFY22), SCIB registered a net loss of RM2.7 million due to operational and initial mobilisation costs, while revenue stood at RM26.49 million.

The group had no available financial results for comparison as it changed its financial year end from Dec 31 to June 30.
