KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 2): Telekom Malaysia Bhd saw 11 million shares representing 0.29% of its shares traded off-market on Friday (Dec 2).

According to Bloomberg data, the shares were traded in two tranches for a total value of RM60.72 million.

The transactions were carried out at RM5.52 per share, compared to its closing price of RM5.61 in the open market on Thursday. The parties involved in the transactions were not immediately known.

According to Telekom Malaysia’s website as of Oct 31, Telekom Malaysia’s substantial shareholders include Khazanah Nasional Bhd with 20.19% stake, Employees Provident Fund Board (16.38%) and AmanahRaya Trustees Bhd (9.67%).

Last month, Telekom Malaysia saw its net profit for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2022 (3QFY22) fell slightly, as foreign exchange loss on borrowings and higher effective tax rate due to the Cukai Makmur weighed on its profitability.

The net profit fell 2.2% to RM265.20 million, from RM271.21 million a year ago, despite quarterly revenue growing 13% to RM3.16 billion from RM2.80 billion.

The group attributed the higher revenue to an improvement in its wholesale, broadband and enterprise solution businesses.
