KUALA LUMPUR (July 30): Malaysian Airlines System Bhd has said that with with regards to the reports of the discovery of an aircraft flaperon at Reunion Island, off the east coast of Africa, it was working working with the relevant authorities to confirm the matter.

“At the moment, it would be too premature for the airline to speculate the origin of the flaperon,” it said in a brief statement today.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 was believed to have crashed in the Indian Ocean last year.

No trace has been found of the Boeing 777, which disappeared in March last year carrying 239 passengers and crew from Kuala Lumpur, bound for Beijing. Most of the passengers were Chinese citizens.
