KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 9): Based on corporate announcements and news flow today, companies in focus tomorrow may include Top Glove Corp Bhd, Maxis Bhd, Dagang NeXchange Bhd, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd and Batu Kawan Bhd.

Top Glove Corp Bhd is looking to offer more employment and create new jobs for individuals within and outside the organisation amid pandemic-driven business closures and job losses. Its founder and executive chairman Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai said the coronavirus had caused families across the globe to endure suffering “like never before, caused not only by the pandemic itself but its impact on economies”.

Maxis Bhd has offered a performance share grant involving 10.5 million ordinary shares in the telecommunications group for its eligible employees, under its long-term incentive plan. The telco said the shares granted have a vesting period of 34 months or almost three years.

Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX) said it has been notified by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) of the arrest of several key management personnel of its semiconductor subsidiary SilTerra Malaysia Sdn Bhd for possible graft. They were arrested yesterday to assist in MACC's investigation of a potential offence under the MACC Act 2009.

Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd's (KLK) major shareholder Batu Kawan Bhd's share price closed up 40 sen or 1.94% at a record high of RM21.00 on Bursa Malaysia today after the latest round of share buy-backs. The stock, which had been climbing since a year-to-date low of RM18.52 on July 30, traded between RM20.80 and RM21.00 today with 23,300 shares changing hands.
