KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 24): The Covid-19 pandemic has certainly put paid to luxury retailer Valiram's big plans to celebrate its watch emporium Swiss Watch's 20th anniversary this year, but brothers Sharan and Ashvin say the celebrations have not been cancelled, only deferred.

Art of Time was first unveiled in 2011 as a means to recreate the setting of watch fairs held annually in Switzerland, bringing together representatives from manufacturers, some of their most stunning watches and local connoisseurs — all with the objective to establish a culture of appreciation for haute horlogerie in Malaysia.

In our cover story this week, the two of the three siblings and executive directors of the home-grown luxury retailer — their youngest brother, Mukesh, is in Singapore — talk about how the company pivoted during the pandemic and the manner in which they have always adapted to stay ahead.

They also reveal interesting details about the Art of Time exhibition, which runs at Pavilion KL until Oct 31.
