Samsung is bringing its impressive flagship QLED TV on another level now that its range of QLED 8K TVs are here. Malaysians who want watching movies at home to be a truly immersive cinematic experience will find the South Korean's electronic giant's vision of the future for TV picture quality to be worth buying today.

For those who may not aware, 8K actually is a measure of the amount of detail a screen can display and the QLED 8K TV comes with more than 33 million pixel-resolution, which is four times higher than the 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) and 16 times higher than Full HD (FHD). The picture quality is incredible with the increase sense of realism as the pixel density increases. For example, an 82" 4K display has a pixel density of 54 PPI while the same display with 8K resolution has 107 PPI, allowing for the display of finer details in the image which adds to the sense of realism.

As larger screen sizes are becoming a market trend amidst the rapidly declining prices of larger screen sizes due to investment of flat panel display industry in manufacturing capacity, the 8K becomes even more important as the added pixels expands the sweet spot viewing zone. This allows consumers to enjoy an incredible picture quality even if they have to sit close to the TVs, such as in the apartments with smaller living rooms. Samsung QLED 8K TV comes in 3 sizes, 75", 82" and 98", allowing consumers to experience big-screen entertainment from the comfort of their home.

The QLED 8K TV is at its best with native 8K images but it also sets new standards with the lower resolution images, which is what most of the consumers are watching today. Inside the beautiful screen is Samsung's proprietary technology, the Quantum Processor 8K, which employs its Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities to learn and compare millions of images that help it calibrate lower-resolution sources and optimise them into 8K content. The upscaling engine does a brilliant job of separating content source noise, giving a sharper, denser images as well as a more detailed and more 3D pictures seen even when comparing with the best 4K TVs available in the market, giving consumers the best home viewing experience.

Putting aside the 8K capabilities, the 'minimalist' design is also impressive with a thin bezel around the screen and its iconic black colour. It also continued with its "invisible cable" concept, which was introduced in 2017. The 'One Connect Box' and 'One Clear Cable' feature' basically free up the TV so that it could be placed anywhere in a room without the needs to worry about connecting the mess of cables to the back of the panel. The No Gap Mount Wall is also another innovation which enables the TV to be mounted directly on the wall with essentially no air gap between the TV and the wall. It gives the effect as if the TV screen is part of the wall, not hung on it, transforming the TV into an artistic display for one's home when it turns off.

Another surprising and pleasant surprise for consumers would be its compatibility with Apple's Airplay 2 ecosystem, which means consumers can watch movies, video, music or screen sharing from his or her iPhone, iPad or other Apple products seamlessly. This is the first time in the entertainment industry where Apple has launched its services outside of the iOS ecosystem. There is also the Apple TV app, which joins the likes of Netflix and others on the Smarthub menu, which means consumers don't need to purchase a separate Apple TV anymore to play their content.

Like most Samsung smart products, it also comes with Bixby, Samsung's voice recognition. It helps users to find and watch content as well as to manage their virtual world using their voice. Major improvements to Samsung's virtual assistance recently include conversation continuity, enhanced queries related to video watching experience as well as intelligent recommendations.

Another cool feature with the QLED 8K TV is Samsung's SmartThings Dashboard, which allows for the interconnection of Internet Of Things (IoT) devices within the home. The dashboard helps to monitor and control these devices* include Washing Machine, Air-Conditioner and Powerbot.
