There seems to be widespread support for linking executive salaries to environmental, social and governance (ESG) metrics, according to a global survey of investors and senior leaders in key markets conducted by PwC and the London Business School’s (LBS) Leadership Institute. The momentum towards this practice seems “unstoppable”, the companies say in a joint report published last month.

Malaysia’s labour market continued to expand in terms of demand and employed persons in the first quarter of this year, following the lifting of pandemic-related restrictions, according to the latest Labour Market Review for 1Q2022 released by the Department of Statistics Malaysia. It noted that the flurry of socioeconomic activities in February continued throughout March as things had practically returned to some semblance 
of normalcy.

According to an online What Worries the World April 2022 global poll of 19,000 adults aged 16 to 74 conducted between March 25 and April 3 by Paris-headquartered market research firm Ipsos Global Advisor, inflation was a top concern for one in three respondents (32%)  in April 2022 from just 8% near the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in April 2020. Inflation worries, on average, rose six percentage points month on month across 27 countries (including Malaysia).
