KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 6): Bearing a similar name as the nearby Taman Tasik Permaisuri, the 220-acre Bandar Sri Permaisuri is jointly developed by DBKL and Dwitasik Sdn Bhd, with PPC Glomac Sdn Bhd as the turnkey contractor.

Bandar Sri Permaisuri was initially planned to be a public golf course in the 1990s but the plan was subsequently changed so that the area could be built as a mixed development to provide more housing.

Bandar Sri Permaisuri has mainly high-rise development, which also means it has a high density and a large population, resulting in traffic congestion during peak hours because of limited parking space.

Nevertheless, property consultants are positive about its prospects because of good access to highways and amenities. They also note that Bandar Sri Permaisuri is deemed as a lower-middle- and middle-income township but the situation has changed recently with the relatively newer Queensville Kuala Lumpur.
